Acharei Mot  אחרי מות  "After the death "

Pretty straight forward video it just gives the basic outline, and it is a little humorous.

Appearing Before the lord

This portion immediate follows the death of Nadab and Abihu whose names mean generous and he is my father, respectively. They had made incense to offer the LORD in the Holy of Holies, and when they had entered the glory of the LORD consumed them and they died.

They had acted hastily and without the proper precautions. This portion describes how and when the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies, once a year, on the Day of Atonement.

A Connection to Early Beleivers

Also this portion describes why blood is forbidden to be eaten and expands the laws for sexual relations. All of these things are linked to Acts 15:20 when the first council of the elders met to decide how the Nations could enter into the fellowship of believers in Yeshua as Israel's Messiah. Obviously belief in God was the first prerequisite. This is shown by the turning away from idolatry. The portion begins with how to approach God. Next is the prohibition against sexual immorality as evidenced by the instructions to refrain from adultery. Finally, there is the directive to not eat blood, or what was strangled. This is also found in this portion, and also in the instructions given to Noah (Genesis 9:4) after the flood when meat was first put on the menu for mankind.
